Soft Sleeves

Penny sleeves are the first layer of protection most collectors put on a card. They are thin, clear, single-sided soft sleeves that slide straight over a card to keep fingerprints, dust and surface scratches off it, and they are what you use in bulk — storing a set, posting a trade, or as the inner sleeve inside a toploader or one-touch.

These are Ultra PRO soft sleeves, a brand most UK shops stock. If you are sending cards away for grading, sleeving in a penny sleeve first is the normal expectation. For deck play you want double-sleeving or a proper matte deck sleeve instead — penny sleeves are made for storage, not for shuffling.
