Careers at Neo

Neo Cards & Collectables has been trading since 2018. On 5 September 2026 we open our first shop at 36 High Street, Highworth, Wiltshire, and we're looking for passionate people to join the Neo family.

What it's like to work here

We want the shop to be a place people come to spend time; whether that's playing their favourite game, trading cards or meeting friends. We want our team to feel the same too - a place you enjoy coming to work, where work doesn't feel like work.

We're a small team, so your days are varied and you're never far from someone who'll lend a hand. We buy from genuine distributors and we're straight with people about what is and isn't guaranteed, which makes your life easier as much as theirs. You'll never have to stand behind something you don't believe in.

Open roles

Stream Host — live selling on eBay

Location: 36 High Street, Highworth, Wiltshire
Hours: Part time, 6–9 hours per week
Pay: £20+ per hour, depending on experience

You open packs on camera, chat to the people watching, and sell as you go. Some nights it's forty people in the chat at once and a box that gives up nothing. Other nights somebody hits a card they've been chasing for years and the whole stream lifts. Both make for a good evening.

Here's the bit we're most excited about. We do plenty of Pokémon and always will — but the streams with the most room to grow are the ones barely anyone in the UK is running. Magic: The Gathering. One Piece. Disney Lorcana. Football. F1. Star Wars Unlimited. And others. If one of those is your thing, do tell us on the form, because we'd love to build a night around it with you.

And if you're Pokémon through and through, that's smashing as well. There's no shortage of it here.

You don't need to have streamed before. We'll teach you everything, and some of the best sellers we've watched aren't slick in the slightest — they're just clearly enjoying themselves, and they know what they're holding. Confidence beats polish every time.

What you'd be doing: hosting friendly, family-friendly streams, showing products off properly, keeping the chat going, handling sales as they come in, and helping decide what goes on next.

What we're hoping for: someone easy to watch and easy to talk to, comfortable when things move quickly, careful with stock and sales, and genuinely into at least one TCG. Streaming experience is a lovely bonus, never a requirement.

Worth saying so you can plan around it: 6–9 hours a week is a good second job rather than a full-time wage, so it tends to suit someone whose days are already spoken for and who fancies a few enjoyable evenings. As the streams grow, so can the hours.

Store Lead — running the shop

Location: 36 High Street, Highworth, Wiltshire
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, permanent
Pay: £26,000–£30,000 per year, depending on experience

This is the person who makes the shop feel like the shop. Rotas, keys, stock, the floor, the events, and the regulars who'll know your name by October. You'd be the one deciding what a Thursday night tournament looks like, and we'd back you on it.

If you've ever stood in a card shop thinking I'd do this differently — this is the job where you get to. We're small and we're new, so there's no thirty-page playbook waiting for you. You'd be writing it.

What you'd be doing: day-to-day operations and how the shop looks and feels, staff rotas, senior keyholder duties, stock control and merchandising, planning and hosting events and tournaments, looking after customers when something has gone wrong, health and safety, and telling us honestly how it's all going.

What we're hoping for: some supervisory or retail management experience, comfort with stock systems and numbers, and the sort of eye that spots a bent sleeve before a customer does. Previous card or collectables retail would be wonderful. If you've managed retail elsewhere and you love this hobby, you're every bit as interesting to us.

The first few months of a new shop are never tidy, and we won't pretend otherwise. But you'd be shaping the place rather than inheriting it, and that doesn't come round often.

A few practical things, so nothing's a surprise

Please don't worry about ticking every box. If something here made you think oh, I'd like that, send the form in. We'd much rather read it and find out. Some of the best people we've worked with would never have described themselves as qualified.

You don't have to be a lifelong collector. Enthusiasm and reliability go a long way, and the sets will be in your head within a month whether you like it or not.

The building has stairs and no lift. It's Grade II listed — lovely to look at, and not something we're able to change. Both roles involve moving between floors, so we'd rather mention it now than at interview.

We all muck in, including the boss. Some days that means packing orders on the floor with the radio on, and we rather like that about the place.

The form takes a few minutes rather than an afternoon. We read every single one properly. If you're a good fit we'll be in touch within a week, and if we've gone another way we'll still let you know — nobody enjoys being left wondering.

Whoever you are and wherever you've come from, you're welcome here. The best card shops are full of all sorts, and we'd very much like ours to be one of those.

Any questions at all, just ask — hello@neocards.co.uk or 0330 122 6539. We'd love to hear from you.
