Shining Fates is the 2021 Sword & Shield special set built around its Shiny Vault, a subset of shiny Pokémon printed with the etched, textured finish collectors first met in Hidden Fates. Shiny Charizard VMAX in its Gigantamax form is the headline, but the real draw is the vault itself: a run of shiny Galar-era Pokémon gathered in one place rather than scattered across several expansions. That is why Shining Fates is still one of the most collected releases of its era.

Which format suits you

Shining Fates was never sold as a standard booster box, so the way in has always been through special products. This page covers the Elite Trainer Box, the Pikachu V Box, the Premium Collection featuring Shiny Crobat or Shiny Dragapult, the Mad Party Pin Collections for Bunnelby, Polteageist, Dedenne and Galarian Mr Rime, mini tins, and individual booster packs.

If you are chasing Shiny Vault cards, packs are what matter. The Elite Trainer Box and the Premium Collections are the larger multi-pack options and the usual choice for a proper attempt at the vault. Mini tins and pin collections are the cheaper entry, and they come with a promo card or a pin you keep whatever you pull, which makes them a decent gift. Single packs suit anyone who wants a taste of the set without a larger outlay. As a 2021 release long out of print, everything here comes from remaining supply rather than fresh production, so formats appear and disappear.
